Sheepwash Lane

A lane in Lavant whose name recalls the agricultural practice of washing sheep in the River Lavant before shearing. The lane provides a connection between the village and the surrounding farmland, and its rural character survives despite the development pressure that affects villages close to Chichester. The lane is used by walkers accessing the footpath network that connects Lavant to the Downs.
