Cocking Road

The road that climbs over the South Downs from Singleton to the village of Cocking, crossing the South Downs Way at the top of the escarpment. The ascent is steep and winding, with gradients that challenge both drivers and cyclists. The views from the summit are outstanding, looking north across the Weald and south across the coastal plain. The road provides access to several South Downs Way walks.
