The Nine Hours race inaugurated

1952

The Nine Hours endurance race at Goodwood brought night racing to the circuit, with sports cars competing from afternoon through darkness. The event tested cars, drivers and teams in conditions ranging from sunshine to pitch black, and the atmosphere of a racing circuit operating after dark created an experience that spectators remembered for the rest of their lives.
