Stirling Moss crashes at St Mary's

23 April 1962

Stirling Moss suffered a career-ending crash at St Mary's corner during practice. The accident, caused by a mechanical failure, left Moss with serious injuries that ultimately forced his retirement from competitive racing at the age of thirty-three. The crash robbed motorsport of its greatest driver and remains one of the most significant moments in Goodwood's history.
