First Festival of Speed

1993

Charles Gordon-Lennox, then Earl of March, held the first Festival of Speed on the driveway of Goodwood House. The event, using a 1.16-mile hillclimb course through the parkland, attracted approximately 25,000 spectators and established the format that would grow into one of the largest and most celebrated motoring events in the world.
