Cricket played at Goodwood

c. 1727

The 2nd Duke of Richmond, a keen patron of cricket, organised matches on the Goodwood estate. The Duke was one of the most influential figures in the early development of organised cricket in England, and Goodwood was among the venues where the sport's rules and conventions were established during the Georgian era.
