Lavant
A downland village at the gates of the estate with a renowned pub and strong community identity
Lavant is the principal village serving the Goodwood estate, straddling the A286 between Chichester and Midhurst. The village encompasses Mid Lavant and East Lavant, with the River Lavant, a chalk winterbourne, flowing through the settlement. The Earl of March pub is the village's most notable establishment, offering dining of a standard that attracts visitors from across the Chichester area.
