Goodwood Motor Circuit

A living motorsport venue where the golden age of racing is celebrated on the original 1948 circuit

The Goodwood Motor Circuit occupies the site of the former RAF Westhampnett fighter station, using the wartime perimeter track as a 2.4-mile racing circuit. The circuit hosted top-level motorsport from 1948 to 1966 and was revived for the Goodwood Revival in 1998. Today it is the venue for the Revival, the Members' Meeting, track days, driving experiences and corporate events. The circuit's famous corners include Madgwick, Fordwater, St Mary's and Lavant, all named after features of the local landscape or wartime personnel. The pit lane, paddock and grandstands have been sympathetically restored to reflect the circuit's original period character. Between events, the circuit can be walked as a heritage trail, and the flat, smooth surface is also used by runners and cyclists.
