Chichester Edge
The urban gateway to Goodwood, providing rail connections, accommodation and the cultural attractions of a cathedral city
The northern edge of Chichester, where the cathedral city meets the countryside that leads to the Goodwood estate, provides the main transport connections and urban services for the Goodwood area. Chichester railway station, on the south coast main line, is the nearest mainline station to Goodwood and the starting point for shuttle bus services during major events. The A285, which runs north from the city through Halnaker to Goodwood, begins in this area. Hotels, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions including Chichester Cathedral, the Pallant House Gallery and the Chichester Festival Theatre are all within this zone, serving Goodwood visitors alongside the city's resident population.
